Extensive experience in road construction

There are 3 phases necessary for the construction of a highway

11

Study and planning

In this first stage, the main aspects of this new venture will be defined. At this stage, it is necessary to make calculations, analysis and definitions to decide what will be the main function of the highway, whether it will be for commercial, tourist or military use. Consideration should be given to which vehicles will pass through there, the weight density and other details.

A study of the region is also carried out, verifying what the volume of traffic will be, if there is a possibility of traffic jams, what are the risks of accidents, the costs involved in the construction of the highway, in its operation and subsequent maintenance.

At this point, the type of economic activity in the regions that will be served by the highway is also analyzed. A calculation and a study are carried out on the growth of the vehicle fleet, how this will impact the highway, if it will have the capacity to transport this entire fleet and if in the future there will be a need or possibility of an expansion.

11

Project development

The development of the project is carried out according to the location through which the highway must pass. Calculations are carried out to prepare the budget, it is also necessary to trace the transversal and longitudinal profile of the work, its dimensions, among other aspects related to architecture and engineering.

Possible obstacles in the way are considered, as they can be overcome in an intelligent, safe and, preferably, economical way. All the expertise of the engineers is very important so that the needs of the project can be met in compliance with the natural terrain.

11

After all this study, analysis and calculation, it is possible to start the construction of the actual highway. Now the project will be put into practice by a specialized team, which will have in their hands all the information on how to conduct the project, the types of equipment, materials and labor that will be needed to execute it.

The construction phase is composed of several steps that involve, for example:

  • logging
  • structure foundation
  • earthworks of culverts
  • soil compaction
  • paving
  • signaling.

Know all the steps for the construction of roads

Highways are large-scale projects and, therefore, their construction involves a lot of details and different stages. After all, it does not consist of simply leveling the ground and laying asphalt on top. If the work is not carried out well, it will not be able to meet the objectives for which it is intended and in a short time it will be deteriorated.
Thus, the construction of a highway requires study, planning, organization and a good execution to reach the final result successfully, guaranteeing that it can be used for many years without major maintenance.

Logging

Before talking about felling trees in the 21st century, we inform you that all tree felling is accompanied by a previous study where we send the Environmental Impact report to the competent bodies.

After fulfilling the requirements and releasing the document that authorizes us to remove the trees, we begin our work.

11

Structure foundation

Foundations are the structural elements intended to transfer the loads of the structure to the ground on which it is supported. For this reason, they must be resistant to withstand the stresses caused by the forces involved.

Soil also needs strength and rigidity so as not to break and cause deformations.

11

Culvert earthworks

Before the soil compaction is carried out, all the earthworks of culverts are carried out so that the flow of water, whether from springs or even rainwater, does not destroy or break any part of the road.

11

Soil compaction

Soil compaction is a procedure that increases the density of the land on which a building will be built. From this, it is possible to guarantee more resistance and stability for all subsequent stages of a construction site.

11

The paving of roads is done according to the intensity and type of traffic, in addition to taking into account the characteristics of the existing soil in the place. It is a procedure performed in four main layers, namely: asphalt base coating, base, sub-base and subgrade reinforcement.

11

Signaling

Finally, we carried out the road signs of the newly paved road.

  • Horizontal Signaling (Light Strips on the Floor) and
  • Vertical Signaling (Warning, Alert, Obligation and Awareness Signs)
